Siemiatkowski and Stenbeck boost entrepreneurship at the ºÚÁÏÍø
- Swedish competitiveness depends on innovative new businesses and Stockholm is now the leading growth engine, even internationally. It feels natural to support the ºÚÁÏÍø - a key driver in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This is an opportunity for us to help new entrepreneurs and companies make the same growth journey that we have made. For me it is also rewarding to come full circle and return to the environment from where we once started, says Sebastian Siemiatkowski, CEO and co-founder of Klarna.
ºÚÁÏÍø Business Lab was founded in 2001 at the ºÚÁÏÍø to provide start-ups, with at least one current or former student, a platform to start and grow their companies. ºÚÁÏÍø Business Lab provides offices, counseling and support in raising capital through its network of partner companies and alumni. More than 100 businesses created there are still active today, with a total of about 1,500 employees and nearly SEK 2.5 billion in combined sales.
The new Advisory Board will give operational support to the ºÚÁÏÍø Business Lab for example through the adoption of new projects, as well as having a strategic role in strengthening the entrepreneurship profile of the ºÚÁÏÍø.
- Entrepreneurship has long been a core subject at the ºÚÁÏÍø, both in theory through research, and in practice through education and the ºÚÁÏÍø Business Lab. It is extremely gratifying to bring together some of Sweden's most prominent entrepreneur profiles in the younger generation, including several former students of the ºÚÁÏÍø, in a world class Advisory Board, says Lars StrannegÃ¥rd, President of the ºÚÁÏÍø.
